  • How can I print off the lines of my table?

I have a table of data that I need to print off. However, when I print it the black lines on the table do not print off. When I do print it off the web page address is visible in the top right hand corner so I think that may be the reason why it is not printing the lines off.

Is there a way to force the printer to print off the lines?

  • Where to get advice on Marketing an Entertainments Business?

I have been designing a website for a client. They have a business and they would like to generate more bookings. I have recommended that they contact people in the entertainment business to seek advice and how to get potential clients. Basically the business uses green screen chroma key technology to super impose peoples heads onto a dancing body. You can see my site here as it is nearly finished. http://www.dancingbodies.co.uk/ They are based in Middlesbrough U.K and are prepared to travel for events. So basically I would like to know how they can contact people in the entertainment business. Business agents who have contact who would be able to help them secure bookings. Any Information would be a great help. Thanks in advance

  • what is the difference between Ox liver and Beef liver?

My mother has just been to Asda (Walmart) and she was about to buy some Ox liver for the dogs. She has always been told that she should buy Ox liver. The packaging said it was Beef liver. My mother asked the staff assistant what the difference between Ox liver and Beef liver was.

The staff assistant said "I know we have all the barbecue meat coming in today and we ahve to stock all of the shelves". My mother replied "What has that got to do with the price of fish?" The woman looked puzzled and said "It hasn't got anything to do with it. My mother said, "and neither has your answer to my question!" Do you know what the difference is? I presume Ox is from male bovine and Beef from female or vice versa. but do you know?

Please help! Have a wonderful 10th of April 2010. Thanks in advance :)

  • How do I connect my laptop to my TV with a HDMI lead?

I have a Sony Bravia TV with 2 HDMI interfaces and a Sony VGN-AR61M laptop with 1 HDMI interface. I want to watch DVD's on my TV using my laptop. I purchased a HDMI lead and hooked them both up but t=the TV says PC No Sync.

I have connected my laptop to TV using VGA and audio leads previously which was successful. When I search for HDMI devices it says that none are found.

    It says here: http://www.geekwithlaptop.com/how-to-connect-lapto...

"TV’s with a single digital port labeled HDMI/DVI require only one cable when the source is another HDMI component. But when source is a DVI laptop, you need a DVI-to-HDMI cable for the video and a separate pair of RCA analog stereo cables".

How can I find out if my laptop is a DVI laptop? Surely a Sony laptop with a HDMI interface can connect to a Sony HDTV with a HDMI interface? Perhaps not? When I purchased my Vaio Laptop I was excited that it had a BLU ray player installed. When I tried to play a BLU ray disc it would not work. I had to trail the internet to discover that Sony never intended it to be used to watch BLU ray movies die to copyright laws. Apparently it will only play BLU ray video that has been recorded on a video recorder and NOT a hollywood movie!

To me that's like Lamborghini producing a car and boasting that they have the best tyres fitted in the world and the best tyres that have ever been designed and developed for a car. Then when you buy the Lambhorgini you read the small print and it says their tyes are the best but only whilst driven in 6 - 8 mm of snow and between temperatures of 0 - 0.8 degrees C! Ok rant over. well not quite. I paid over £850.00 for my laptop and thge hard drive died after less than 2 years but Sony wanted £370.00 to fit a new one.

    Hope you can help.

  • How do you setup a vb.net database to run on a Microsoft SBS 2003?

My problem is that I have helped develop a full blown web application in vb.net for a company. I want the app to be available online so that the user can log in and start entering data into the database. The company employs a small business to manage their server. I have asked for the app to be made available using a URL but the company have recommended accessing the dbase via remote desktop connection. Surely this is dangerous providing employees with access to the server where they have to locate a browser and enter a number like 127:192:1:6 etc.?

How easy is it to make a database application available on a server?

    Hope you can help me.

  • Tables in a database query?

I am designing a database and I am putting together my tables. I am using Visual Studio 2008 Express, VB.Net and SQL Server 2008 Express. I am having problems with structure and relationships. These are my tables:

    new_veh_tbl

    veh_reg(primary key) depot_id chassis_number year make model mileage veh_notes

    inspection_tbl

    Veh_id(primary key) comp_mot_date comp_tax_date comp_loler_td comp_twoyr_td comp_sixyr_td

    inspec_tbl

    Veh_id mot_dd tax_dd loler_test_dd 2yrtaco_dd 6yrtaco_dd notes

    history_tbl

    Veh_id service_date service_item labour_hours labour_rate invoice_no notes service_cost total_servicecost_todate

Basically I want the user to click a button and perform a search on the databse. I want the user to be able to see records of a vehicle inspection in date order. I will build the SQL query for this.

The problem I have is understanding how I can store the information in a table. Basically a vehicle has to have an annual mot inspection. I allow for this in my current table that has a field for the next inspection date and the last date of the inspection.

Could I incorporate an archive table that holds all of the previous completed mot dates? The problem is that I am unsure of a primary key that this table would use? Does a table have to have a primary key?

Hope you can help. Or if you could point me in the right direction.

  • What information should I ask a client?

I have a meeting with a client and he wants me to design & develop a database. I have done this before but it was an MS Access database and used classic ASP. I have started to learn ASP.Net using VB and SQL Server 2008.

All I know is that the client wants to store and retrieve data online. Obviously I know that I need to ask for all of the data that he wants to be displayed and understand the data types for the database. However, I understand that it is not as simple as that.

Have you any advice on the questions that I should put forward? There will not be any traffic as only a few will need to access the data.

    Hope you can help.

  • how long until we have devices that we look into and see our true reflection?

I mean we are living in the 21st century and we still the opposite of what we actually look like in the mirror. It's not until we see a photograph until we see our true image. Even this is not in real time so we never really see our true reflection.

  • Is the force directly proportional to the area of the cylinder?

When you hold a hollow cylindrical object under water, (like an opened tin can) there is a force required to pull up the object. I would like to know more about the forces here and whether the force required to pull the object up is directly proportional to the area of the cylinder?

  • What is happening at the atomic level when a material is burning?

What I mean is what exactly is going on? Obviously the fire is exhausting the potential energy in the material but is there a good explanation of the behaviour of the fire and the material being burnt?

My reason is that obviously diamond will not burn from a normal flame. Is it to do with the molecular structure of the materials whether they are flammable or not?

I have offered to help a friend record his very old bokk collection. There are about 2000 old books in his garage that have been boxed there for 4.5 years. He has never looked at them.

  • Does my computer know when I have a hangover?

When I have a hangover my computer operates at an amazingly slow speed. Remember when people used to tell you that computers can handle a million instructions in a second. So why when I click on a tab in Firefox does it take 2 seconds to load the page? I have supposedly a 3.4 gig processor and 1 gig of ram. Is it checking the code in the background?

It's a bit like me nipping round to my neighbours house and asking them if they think it's raining when I want to hang out my washing to dry! Please help

  • Please help me.?

I have a philips LS2000 pc running Windows media centre edition. I have reason software and wanted to make my own music with a keyboard. So I bought a keyboard. Oxygen8 v2 that is compatible with reason. I then found out that I need a midi lead. So I borrowed one off a friend. Then I realised that I couldn't connect my midi lead to the PC. So I then purchased a Sound Blaster Audigy 2 zs Platinum Pro (With software). Which sounds really good but doesn't really say what it is.

Upon opening my PC to insert the amazing 24 bit sound card I realised that it just won't fit. So I will have to build a new PC.

Okay so I am not one to moan. Could you possibly offer some of your knowledge as to recommendations for a mid range PC. i.e What specifications that you would go for?

I would like an excellent graphics card also Directx 10 compliant. At least 2 gig of RAM. Intel core 2 duo thingy?

Thank you for taking the time to read this.

    Peace.
