some people are so over weight that they need to loose alot of weight fast, and alot of them have medical conditions that prevent them from exercising enough to loose the first 100 or so lbs. this procedure allows someone who is say 400-500 lbs to start the loosing process so they can continue on with conventional diet and exercise once they get down to a weight that allows them to a safe enough weight to work out. and they must be ready to change their diet and exercise routine or they will gain the weight back .it is a surgery that is life threatening, it is just not as life threatening as their obesity. i feel like any time someone goes through everything it takes to overcome a disease ( obesity) they should be applauded, not criticized, no matter how they did it,

I don't see a question. But i see people spend their money on stupid things all the time... What's the difference between spending in on gastric bypass surgery or say plastic surgery.. or a incredibly overpriced car? I'm just saying... people can spend their money on whatever they want.. even an easy fix surgery.
