One to two pounds is healthy. Sometimes the first week of a new diet and exercise plan you'll lose a bit more.

It is healthy to lose no more than 2 pounds a week. It is also healthy to gain no more than 2 pounds a week. I first got it from my doctor (I am underweight) and then from the Wii Fit. Lol. It won't let you set your goal for more than 2 pounds a week. However, my doctor also told me at the very beginning (first week) it is okay to gain/lose 3 pounds. Just try not to gain more. Want to know the logic behind it? If you lose more, you'll gain more. Your body holds onto nutrients. If all of a sudden you aren't giving the nutrients it is used to, then it will save all of them, as it does not know when it is giving more. If you eat something everyday, your body adjusts to that and will count on that you get it everyday. If you eat it every other day, it will save it for 2 days. This also causes some diets to not work properly in the beginning. Give diets a few weeks. Also, the best diet is the food pyramid. Good luck!
