What's works well with cornbread baked in?

I add the following. 

A can of creamed corn

Cheddar cheese

jalapeno peppers.

Sometimes I have added bacon.  If I add bacon I use the bacon grease in place of butter in the cornbread. 

Trumpsters like to mix in feces if they're not smearing it on the Capitol walls.

I leave out the sugar and instead of milk, stir in a can of creamed corn. I've also used kernel corn (not creamed) in it. It's also good with a half cup of pumpkin stirred into it, or a handful of toasted pine nuts. You could add almost anything to it--sweet or savory.  My favorite pancakes in the world were made with cornmeal rather than flour. It goes particularly well with maple syrup or honey. 

I like minced onions, that tastes good. I also will make it with raisins and have it as a dessert with butter and corn syrup on it just when it comes out of the oven. OMG yum.

If you like sweet, you can put some maple syrup or chocolate chips in the batter.

Corn - can of corn drained or cup of frozen corn thawed. 

Cubed sharp cheddar cheese (shredded seems to disappear when cooked in) 

Crumbled bacon

Small diced ham

Crumbled sausage
