Is the Government going to extend the 8000 dollar tax credit that ends this year?
I keep hearing they are, also I hear they are going to bring back the 10,000 credit for buying a new house. Does anyone have real information on this? Thanks

I agree with Chatspla, who knows but with the mid-term elections coming up with the government throwing money around they make look at more cost effective measures and yes they may go to the program where you have to pay that back yearly. They key is now the home sales have been increasing this has to continue, plus the toxic assets "foreclosed properties" needs to get bought up. If these two things start to happen values increase therefore there is no need for another government "bailout"

Pull out your crystal ball. . . . .mine is cloudy.
They're doing nothing on it until after health care, until the end of the year when current credit expires. They don't know what they're doing, and I certainly don't. Makes sense to go back to the $7500 noninterest bearing loan payable over 15 years. Depends on housing market this fall/winter.

There's no way to tell. It's all rumor at this point. If you wait, you take your chances that it might not be extended.
