autozone parts brakes and alternators are they good?

my frustrations i fix cars for a living i get very few complaints on what i do

my gripe is when people fix it them selves or ask me to use there parts i get complaints like why are my wheels turning black(#1 complaint with auto zone pads) or they have a life time warranty why did they go bad so quick (pads starters alternators)

do any of you pro's see this as a problem

especially all the people here on this site that reccomends useing thoes parts as a solution

if i had to warranty them it would put me out of buisness

Mise à jour:

my complaint isnt the do it yourselfers as i am one myself my thing is why do you buy the cheep stuff that goes bad quickly insted of buying quallity your time should ba worth something

i know a guy who put in 5 cheep alternators in less than 2 years

when he could have done it once if he would have bought a better part

I put Raybestos brakes and rotors from Checker in my toyota truck 5 years ago. Not a single squeak! But when I took the truck in to get the rear brakes done because I refuse to work on drum brakes, not only did it cost more, but my brake pedal went straight to the floor 3 times in a row while on the freeway exit ramp. You pros screw stuff up too, and charge too much.

It is a very much get what you pay for industry. I would not by from auto zone but would buy from either napa or o'reillys. If your plan is to keep the truck for several more years, then buy at least the mid-grade parts if not the premium line. Ask the parts guys what the o.e. {origional equipment} type pads were and consider those in your decision. Even if the pads cost $60 to $80 they only need to be replaced every 40.000 miles or more if the parts are good ones.

If you buy the cheapest anything, which you can at auto zone, you get what you pay for. I've started buying ceramic brake pads, and it costs me. They also wear longer and seem to be worth the money. I've got alternators I've had on for quite a while, while your saying auto zone is not really good, you have to look at what you're paying for these items. You can get brand names at auto zone, but not for free.

They buy them products because , people like you charge a arm and a leg to fix them!

    for instance,

My wife's car just broke a lower ball joint, now 2 months ago we just had the other side fixed professionally and it cost us 700.00 bucks!

So this time my friend and myself fixed it with parts from Auto zone for

    62 dollars!

    YOU DO THE MATH!

KNOW DO YOU SEE WHY PEOPLE "DO IT YOURSELF"! ! ! ! !
