Who will be breaking the law on christmas day?

I read recently that its technically illegal to eat a mince pie on christmas day in the uk.Apparently this law was passed by Oliver Cromwell and was never changed so i'm gonna be a criminal is anyone else?

well, I'll eat it with you, but I'm not in the UK so it may not be a criminal act.

I like that, its nice to learn something new and interesting, I think I might just have to be a devil though and eat a mince pie, its a bit of a tradition in our family, did you know that after taking the first bite of a mince pie on Christmas day your supposed to make a wish and you will have luck all the next year if you do.

yeah this used to be true, but it's just a ridiculous law that doesn't apply to the context of modern society. It used to be against the law as it was seen as unfair to poorer people as they couldn't afford to make mince pies to eat so on christmas day they were made to feel equal as nobody was allowed to eat them

No, I hate mince pie. I'm safe unless it's illegal to eat pecan, or pumpkin pie!

I don't live in the UK, and I don't know what a mince pie was, but if I did, I'd join in with you. Cheers!

you'd probably feel guilty when you eat one but thats only because you will have a plateful more to eat and all of them have got freshly whipped double cream mountain on the top.. lol.. merry xmas
