yeah that's really easy. im sure tons of aliens have already done that billions of years ago. humans might do it eventually. but yes, 3000 horsepower in a 3000lb car would be very easy to achieve. however it would not last the 200,000 miles expected of it, it would be very useless since you'd need drag slicks to actually put that kind of power on the ground, and tons of other logical things that would just make it impractical for regular consumer use.
Source(s) : the other anon is dumb. it's easy. all of those cars are de-tuned to be reliable. - ?Lv 7il y a 6 mois
1980s F1 cars had 1.5 litre turbo charged engines which were rumoured to have 1500 bhp in qualifying although under 1000 in race trim.
As the cars weighed about 650 kg, tgat works out at 2300 bhp per tonne.
Admittedly not a production car but shows it’s possible.

Koennigsegg produced a car called the 1:1, which had a 1 hp per lb ratio. But that car costs millions! to make a "production" car takes more than people think. The car needs to pass rigorous tests of safety, durability, heat and cold extremes, and several cars will need to be crash tested. This costs hundreds of millions before the production line even starts. but to answer the question, yes! it can be done with money, good engineering, great components, and a good team to service it.

Find a 2016 F1 car. Reproduce it and license it in some country with zero rules in regards to auto standards.... oh, and figure out how to get 730 more HP out of the engine with zero weight gain.

It's not easy. You're looking for one pound per horsepower.
A 2021 Challenger Hellcat Super Stock is 807 horsepower and 4514 pounds, making for 5.6 pounds per horsepower. If seven examples counts as production, the Koenigsegg One:1 has a curb weight of 1360 kg (3000 lb) and 1341 horsepower, for a ratio of 2.2 pounds per horsepower.
To come close to your goal, you would have to put that engine in a Miata... and do some performance mods.

no ..not in a production vehicle ..i good measure of a performance vehicle use to be 100bhp per litre ..nowadays a few cars can get 200bhp +per litre ..some special vehicles can get in excess of 1.000 bhp ..but it need to be a land speed type car to get to 2.000 bhp ..then not under a tonne
