White screen on iPod touch?

I have a second generation iPod touch and it died on me so I plugged it into my computer and iTunes popped up and said it was charging. I turned on my iPod because you can use it while it's charging, but the screen just came up white like when you take a screenshot. I tried to power it off but nothing would come up no matter how long I held down the buttons. The white screen will stay for a while and then change to a dim grey. I looked up some stuff on the internet and people said to restore it.

What happens when you restore it? All I know is that the original settings go back like when you first had the iPod and then the songs "and stuff " will go back. What about your apps? I have a lot on there and I have them just how I like them, should I restore it or just wait until tomorrow and see what happens?

I would wait sometimes mine did that and I have a docking system and I just put it in there and the screen unfroze and went back to normal just keep trying to undo it from the computer and let it go a few mins then plug it back in

Just keep trying to turn on and off

You wouldn't wanna reset it with all that stuff when it may work in a day or so

If you restore it, it will be reset to factory default. When you plug it into itunes, it will re-synch everything. I was amazed that even when I uninstalled itunes (I was having my own issues) and reinstalled it, it still kept all my information! It's a pain to wait for it to re-synch, but it is certainly worth it if it won't work. Non-working itouches stink.... Mine is always near me. I think I'm probably addicted to it! :)

The apps are all on your account and on itunes, they are safe. same with music, as long as it is all in itunes, you have it. and when you restore, it also restores from your backup. but you have to sync the music back yourself, itunes doesnt back that info up.

carry the living house button and the close button on maximum appropriate for style of 15 secs and it will restart if it nevertheless isn't working at present take it to an apple shop before your spit corrodes the device!
