The laptop story has been proven to be a Russian disinformation campaign. That's why the story was only picked up by the scandal rag, The New York Post, and even three of their journalists refused to be associated with the story.

No. Democrats have neither been hyping nor dumping on the media in general. Democrats have always pointed out the lies and misrepresentations of the biased right-wing media outlets.

The New York Post -- one media outlet -- published a dubious story. Other media outlets condemned for its lack of corroboration and the fact that it was an obvious ploy for votes. I don't see any change in the Democrats' position.
