I'm having a really hard time understanding how people can hate each other over politics, how friends can disown those who don't see things the same way, how even family can sometimes fight over it all and become mad at their own family members.

Something maybe many don't think about is the fact that we choose based on our own life experiences and how it's been for us... we don't all have the same issues and that makes the differences.

Instead of hate, I'd wish for people to try and understand why others choose as they do and realize it's the same for all of us... we just have different views that come from different lives lived....for me, how I am and what I believe in is all based on how my life has been and how many things have effected me.

I'm not sure I'm making myself really clear, but I hope you get it.

I couldn't possibly hate anyone for a political point of view.

Only if you support a liar and a criminal for political reasons, just like the Republicans did when Nixon was a criminal while president.

Evil is twofold. One is a true evil, for the reason that it is incompatible with one's natural good, and the hatred of such an evil may have priority over the other passions. There is, however, another which is not a true, but an apparent evil, which, namely, is a true and connatural good, and yet is reckoned evil on account of the corruption of nature: and the hatred of such an evil must needs come last. This hatred is vicious, but the former is not.

No, I just don't respect your views, just like you probably don't respect mine.

No.  But you clearly need mental health care.  All right-wing political ideology finds its roots in mental illnesses.  Admitting you have a problem is the first step in getting well.  Seek help.
