Is this the direction liberals would like to take us?

Mise à jour:

Actually blue laws "the laws that forced stores to be closed on Sunday" were created by the Democrats in the south.

The Republicans did not have control in the south back then.

Actually, Sunday closing laws and similar restrictions date back to the Puritans in New England, and have always been based upon religious conservatism, not political liberalism. Moreover, the Southern Democrats were not liberals (ever heard of the "Dixiecrats"?) But I will give you that liberals have been behind a lot of rules regulating how business operate: child labor laws, the five-day work week, the 8-hour day, etc. Maybe you'd like to see those repealed?

Nonsense. Only republicans force private business owners to close shop. In fact, your party has been forcing me to close my own business every single Sunday for years, to adhere to your personal religious beliefs. See: blue laws.

Liberals have never advocated anything about retail store hours.
