Great Britain is Wales, Scotland and England. Then United Kingdom is short for the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, which is essentially the country. Even thought it's called the UK, the passports are British. London is the capital of England, but because the English government holds the power it is also the capital of the uk. As for the Republic of Ireland, it is a completely separate country and so is not part of the UK and does not use British passports.

Great Britain and the united kingdom are the same thing, made up of England, Scotland, Wales and Northen Ireland. They are four countries that have been 'united' and are the same in many ways as they share common traits. There is no capital of the UK but London is the capital of England, and only England. Northen Ireland and the Republic of Ireland are two different countries and Northen Ireland is part of Great Britain so they have British passports and the Republic of Ireland is not so they have Irish passports.
Hope I could help:) xx

yes, that is pretty much accurate except for a few spellings LONDON, EDINBURGH,BELFAST. and the UK does not have a capital.
