Oil companies, and anyone who has invested in oil companies which includes people who own mutual funds and other types of funds which have a portion of their money invested in oil companies. I don't specifically pick who or what I invest in, but looking at my portfolio many of my mutual funds and other investments have some portion invested in oil. Nearly anyone who has mutual funds will have oil in their portfolio somewhere.

Investors, including me...and about these "Wall St. speculators". If you hear that phrase used by a politician, he is trying to manipulate your worries about prices into communist thinking!
If you saw a copy of Superman #1 in an old comic book store and you bought it for $5, SPECULATING that you could sell it for $10...is that wrong somehow? This is a mixed (free and regulated) market. People are in it for profit. If gas is too much, then don't buy it. Walk or bike instead. B*tching because someone else is making money is just pathetic! The same is true of everything you buy, and the profit margin on fuel is much narrower than other commodities.

The Oil companies only make a few cents per Barrel.
The speculators drive up the price.
The investors in ML P's make a ton of$$
Most of it is just a few cents to each person in the line.

oil and gasoline speculators and the big oil companies. Oil company profits have been record setting in the past few years.
