Best way to carry your flash drive?

I'm a junior computer tech working in a large call center with over 450 computers to maintian. Of course, there is always a program that needs installed, computer that needs re-imaged, or file that needs moved. I really rely on my USB flash drives, which consist of a 16GB corsair rubberized drive, and a 8GB sandisk cruzer.

I always carry my 16GB and 8GB drives with me, along with two security proximity cards and my VPN token. All of this needs to be on me at all times. Needless to say, I need a good lanyard for all of this stuff.

Does anyone have any recommendatoions? Thanks!

What do the other techs use?

Right away, you could probably combine the 2 flash drives into a single 32Gb flash drive.

You could probably simplify everyone's live by centralizing all the stuff on the flash drives on a network drive. Even if you have to hide it from normal users, it still might be worth having.

The 2 security cards sounds like a mistake. Unless they are isolated systems, they should be combined. You should only really need one security card for a building.

So, if I had my way, no flash drive needed, one security card and the VPN token.

On the other hand, I tend to take the boy scout approach with this stuff and my laptop follows me around. That way I can carry several flash drives, CD's, DVD's and other cables and hardware. Plus the laptop gives me access where the computer I'm working on may be out of commission. I don't usually have the luxury of a lot of stuff you have either.

I would suggest investing in an aluminum flash drive that can be put on a keychain (because plastic ones are known to break on keychains) like the Corsair Survivor. It's extremely durable and is even water resistant with the cap on it!

I used to carry mine like my passcard/car keys, dangling from my belt in a keychain, but now I carry them around my neck, I found that I often bumped into the corners of workstations/cabinets and didn't want to damage them.

I was about to say... get a lanyard. Seems to me like that would be the simplest solution; either that, or a belt clip to hook them onto.

Chop off your thunb. Some amputees use their missing finger areas as flash drives

I carry them on my key chain which I have hanging from a carabiner on one of my belt loops and here is a picture
