Does this have Sentence errors in it?
i am doing an english paper on an author, i have to have my opening paragraph finished by monday for a grade this is what i have:
"Many authors use many different influences in the way they write. Nathaniel Hawthorne was no exception; his family and religion influence his works greatly. Hawthorne’s dark style of writing takes ideas from his families association with Puritanism and his own personal experiences dealing it."
does it make sense, does it have any grammer mistakes like sentence errors, or comma splices or anything of that nature?

Well, this is just a suggestion, but try to not use 'many' two times in one sentence. It is a sketchy substitute for a certain amount of whatever it is you are talking about, and if anything, sounds repetitive. In your last sentence "Hawthorne's dark style of writing takes ideas from his families association..."
Families should be family's. (I had to do an essay on Nathaniel Hawthorne too; good luck!)

try this: Authors use many different influences in the way they write, and Nathaniel Hawthorn was no exception. Hawthorne's family and religion have influenced his works greatly. His dark style of writing stems both from his family's association with Puritanism and from his own personal experiences in dealing this association.

You have used the present tense where the past would be more appropriate. Neither Hawthorne nor his family is doing much of anything these days. Also, it's grammAr!

Use the same tense throughout. Past tense seems to be more correct than present tense in this sentence.
BTW, grammAr.

-The first sentence sounds too repetitive
-The second sentence should replace "was" with "is"
-Use a synonym for influence for the second sentence
-Take out the s in "takes" in the third sentense
-"family's", not "families"
-Put 'with' between 'dealing' and 'it'
