Why are some Brits so ignorant about our recent history and constitution?

I have seen an answer elsewhere on the history board referring to the fact the the current Prime Minister is 'unelected'. What do they teach in schools today? For a start, under our constitution we do not 'elect' a Prime Minister. By convention, the leader of the majority party in the Houses of Parliament, whoever he/she may be, is asked by the Sovereign to form a Government and hence becomes the Prime Minister.

Further, for there to be a change in mid-term is nothing unusual. In the 20th century there were the following mid-term changes - Asquith/lloyd George, Chamberlain/Churchill. Churchill/Eden, Eden/Macmillan, Macmillan/Home and Thatcher/Major.

My opinion from across the pond? Briton is suffering from the same malaise as nearly all the Western industrialized nations are - we in this country, worst of all.

The respective national governments of all Western nations, either are unwilling or incapable of stemming the deluge of unwanted immigrants; to the point that there seems to be no longer a distinguishable national character: "Pluralism" gone berserk.

The educational system along with the national culture of each has become unrivaled. The ultimate evolution of "globalization"? A century from now, one will no longer be able to tell a Briton from a Yankee, from a Japanese, from an Australian Aborigine.

Aahh. You are not familiar with this phenomenon? Well, being an American, let me give you a brief ... it is call liberalism. Its purpose is to deny history, reject truth, and re-define words/institutions and culture to fit a new order of things. And the new order of things is self indulgence and self love. It is grotesque. Find a good stomach medicine for the nausea, and be prepared for a battle filled with hyper-emotion, hysteria and uncontrolled rage. No dialog, no debate. Its impossible because all words have been re-defined. And, get used to new words like racist, homophob, sexist and if you believe in God ... they will attack that too.
