Does the *****'s in a book mean anything specific?
When you are reading a book and its in a characters perspective and then you see a few skipped spaces, then *****, and then a few more skipped spaces and the book starts back up again, what does that mean? For example,

It could mean a few things and you'll get a good idea of what it means in the book you're meaning. It could mean:
1) Some time has passed, like a few hours or so.
2) The story is changing points of view.
3) The story is changing scenes.
Sometimes there will be added space between the paragraphs to denote those things. The stars, or ellipses, could denote the end of the book.

Usually there is a time lapse of some type in the story. Either the person has entered another room, location, or the next day has begun.
It does indicate some sort of small break in the story but not enough that a new chapter needs to be begun.

That's like skipping through time or places. Each paragraph is set at different settings.

it probably means the same thing is double space between paragraphs or any little symbol the publishers choose. it just signifies a passage of time.

It means "a while later" or "the next day" or something like that...like a change of time

No, those are just used to divide sections of the book.

okay, that was well explained.
no, my child, it doesn't mean anything.
