TIRE QUESTION!! What would you do?!?
Ok, I'm back to ask another automotive related question (notice how I have a knack for doing that?) Ok, so here is the deal: I have a 2003 Subaru Legacy wagon that needs new tires. I will be driving in the rain, and some slush and light to medium snow.
I'm looking at a couple of options:
Good Year Assurance Triple Tread tires for $640 installed (thats $160/tire). I love the design and the reviews this tire has gotten.
OR
Fireston FR 710 for about $375, but I have a 25% off coupon, which brings the cost down to $280. But, I can't find many great reviews about these tires.
Yeah, MAJOR price difference. So, the question:
Are the assurance triple treads REALLY worth the money over the firestone tires? Are the Firestone FR 710's good on snow/ice/rain?
Thanks for your help guys!
Ok, I have checked tirerack.com for reviews. For the firestone tire, only about 10 reviews are available. For the Good years, over 1000 are available.

First, go to www.tirerack.com to review the various tires that will fit your car, and check reviews and prices. Second, don't buy Firestone tires. They've had many many problems over the years, along with multiple recalls for defects. I know, I've had them.

I had an 03 chevy p/u and the tires were shot. I went to goodyear and they gave me a price that was high. ( Wranglers ) I went to firestone and they gave me a better price for a set of ( uniroyals )That lasted longer then the previous goodyears. I would go to Firestone , better tire and better price.

ok in my opinion i would go with good year because they are a better tire and they will last longer than the fire stones but dont get tires from like walmart or fleet farm go to a shop and buy them because the tires last longer idk why but we see it all the time at the shop i work at plus the fire stones are known for blow out of the side well so i would not buy fire stones at all absolutely hate them
