Those big electricity generating windmill thingies?
Can they start with just wind power or do they get jump started by a motor? Just curious.

Wind. That's the whole point. If there is no wind at all, they contribute no energy to the national grid. So it is lucky we live in Europe's windiest country.

They don't need a motor to get going but they do need the wind to be within a range of wind speeds to generate power effectivly

There's no motors involved with wind mill generators. It all runs by the wind.

I would say they don't need a motor, they need big gusts of wind to start them, that's why they're always built on high ground. I'm sure theirs no motor, just a gearbox.

They start with wind power only.

lol you're missing the whole point of them
the wind starts the turbins moving, that's what generates power.
