Does It Bother Anyone That Iraq and Afghanistan Wars Lasted Longer than WWI&II?
Soon both the Iraq and Afghanistan wars, individually, would have lasted longer than ANY war (Civil war to Vietnam) that the US has had. Moreover, it will have cost more than ALL of them combined.

Modern day Hitler (bush) is still ruling the roost so there seems to be no end as yet

Iraq has long been a warlike nation. America was involved before Bush unless you have all forgotten. My brother was in Desert Storm, I havent.
1943> "Iraq declares war on the Axis countries"
1990> "U.S. military forces arrive in Saudi Arabia (Aug. 9)."
1991 > "The Persian Gulf War begins when Operation Desert Storm launched by a U.S.-led coalition of 32 countries under the leadership of U.S. Gen. Norman Schwarzkopf. A campaign of air strikes against Iraq begins (Jan. 16–17)."
1999> "Beginning in January, weekly, sometimes daily, bombings of Iraqi targets within the northern no-fly zone begin, carried out by U.S. and British bombers. More than 100 air strikes take place during 1999, and continue regularly over the next years. The U.S. and Britain hope the constant barrage of air strikes will weaken Saddam Hussein's grip on Iraq (Jan. 1999–present)."
2002> "In President George W. Bush's state of the union speech, he identifies Iraq, along with Iran and North Korea, as an "axis of evil." He vows that the U.S. "will not permit the world's most dangerous regimes to threaten us with the world's most destructive weapons."
Lets finish it so we do not have to go back again!

The age of wars being decided on a battlefield may be behind us.
The rebuilding of Germany and Japan took many years.
It is bothersome that these conflicts continue, but The War on Islamic Extremists will continue until we are defeated. Keep the front away from Main Street USA.

First off, they are two separate conflicts, although the United States is involved in both. Secondly, human rights are being horribly violated in many places around the world but the U.S. has not sent forces to all these sources of human misery. I think that the role of the U.S. is NOT to be the world's police force but rather to lead by example. A good place to start would be to give the prisoners at Guantanamo basic legal rights (ie, legal counsel, due process, habeas corpus) and to stop acts of torture.

Yes, the only reason those wars are still going on is because of liberal political correctness. The United States military can easily decimate these enemies if allowed to use their might.

Arabs are still mad about the crusades...that's almost a THOUSAND years ago. And want nothing more than to kill anyone who doesn't agree with their repressive beliefs. Don't be so foolish as to think that what started on 9/11 will end anytime soon. Our grandchildren's grandchildren will either have to fight it, or surrender to islamo-fascism. Which would you prefer?

Yes it bothers me a lot that we have to fight any war. Our enemies now are not the same as they were in the past wars though. It's a whole new ballgames so-to-speak.

Yeah and we should be in Afghanistan, not Iraq. Bin Laden is there, sitting in his cave chillin with his buddies, laughing at us, trying to figure out the release date for his next video.

Do you have ANY idea how long Vietnam lasted!?!?!
U.S. involvement alone was well into 15 years.
