Should I move to Austin?
I am a massage therapist and my husband works in Audio Visual here in Seattle. We wanna move!
What are the jobs like? Is this a kid friendly city? Ive only been there once and loved it, but I wasnt there long enough to get a sense of the whole area.

Honestly the best place for you! Austin is a major music/visual town, and the jobs are great, you would have no problems finding work as a massage therapist. Everyone's into holistic approaches down there. Keep Austin Weird!! I love Austin myself, I live three hours away, my best friend lives there, and I hope to live there someday as well.

Yes! Austin is a great city. I have moved to a smaller town here in Texas to be with my future husband and I miss Austin! I was raised there. So much to do, very kid friendly. Especially a lot of creative things to take the kids to do. Zilker Botanical Gardens, canoeing on town lake, cool art museums downtown... Even if you don't live right in the middle of Austin, there are communities close by to settle in to. Seems like a big change in weather though. Seattle to Texas? Get ready for the sunshine!

Yes Austin is a great place to live. i have lived here all my life and have never had any problem finding a job or being bored. I am a mother of two boys and there is always something to do with them. Austin is very kid friendly and entertaining. Cost of living is somewhat expensive depending on how well you want to live but it is well worth it. As long as you stay on the west side of town you will be ok. Zilker park is my favorite place to go with the kids and downtown is my fav. place to go with my husband or friends for a couple of drinks .

hey I live in Austin, and I love it. I'm originally from Central America and I have lived in so many cities...(Houston, TX. Pennsauken, NJ..San Francisco, ) and nothing is compare to Austin..people here is really friendly and the nightlife is awesome...the downtown is really beautiful. And i can be sure that u will have a job really soon....There are a lot of jobs available in this area..so i don't think that would be a problem...Well in the 5 years I have lived here I don't have any single complain about Austin.
I hope u decide to come here..cause you will enjoy it!

Austin is great. The hill country is awesome. The lake is gorgeous. Traffic is pretty yukky, truth be told. If you like the hot sun, pack your bags. Austin is where all the quirky people in Texas go to fit in. There is art and music and great food. Your kids will love visiting the bat bridge. I don't live there, but I've always wanted to and I go there every chance I get.

Austin is great.. I moved here from Chicago. It's livable and very friendly, diverse...and good real estate... nice views. The weather in the summer can be really hot, though..from what I hear. I've only been here since Dec. and so far, so good.
