Um, correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't Hayek use odd definitions of "socialism" and "capitalism," derived from Mises?

These definitions would have shocked many socialists, including Proudhon (an early mutualist), Malatesta (an anarchocommunist), and many socialists today.

It relies upon on the form of the country, not the political device. Fascist, Communist (the two are subsets of socialists); Capitalist -- would not rely. those are financial structures. What concerns is whether or not it is democratic (small "D" -- mob rule) or representative (republican -- small "R"), and what limits the government has on it.

It depends on the constitution of the country, not the political system. Fascist, Communist (both are subsets of socialists); Capitalist -- doesn't matter. Those are economic systems.

What matters is whether it's democratic (small "D" -- mob rule) or representative (republican -- small "R"), and what limits the government has on it.
