If a fetus/baby in the womb is NOT human, what is it?
Simple question for you pro-abortion folks. If a fetus/baby in the womb is NOT human, what is it? It MUST be something. It is living; therefore it is NOT mineral. It is not planted in the ground; therefore, it is not vegetable. That only leaves animal.
Only LIVING things have cell growth; therefore it is alive. If it is alive, it must be a member of the animal kingdom.
So, if it is NOT human, what is it?

The vast majority of biologists agree that a fetus is human. It is not part of the mother's body and is genetically different. It is just attacked to the womb for sustenance.
Embryo, fetus, baby, toddler, child, teenager, adult, are just names for stages in human development.
Some pro-abortionists try to get around this by saying that a fetus is human but not a PERSON. However the criteria for person-hood are vague and can change to suit political convenience. Thus politically it could be convenient to define Blacks and Jews as Humans but not Persons, as has been done in the past.

It made me think the @" The_Doc_Man"s answer, (to answer), the sentence " if the woman does not recognize the rights of the fetus over her own rights, she can do something about it and her rights are legally established.". You never told it @"Karl" but is within unwritten or yet not written - again.
And I also agree and repeat the @"Smeaghead"'s clear statement "This sort of lame attempt at "gotcha" debating is pathetic, stupid, and a waste of everyone's time." - it is wonderful sentence.
It can be NOT human, and it can be human in various situations.
What I've seen with my own presence of experience, life, and watching:
*- Individual fetus, later developed into father, to leave his own mother in house/apartment without any help, until her death, and waiting 3 days so to throw her later out on backyard ground as cloth. ?? Fetus/baby?
*- Individual fetus, later developed into charmer to bring other girl into mother's house/apartment, party, become father, and later to "drive away" his own mother, indirectly, out of the place where she created him - forever until she died.
- Made me think, it is disgusting ... (and it creates me to be opposite ... monster, I'll have to cool my head)
There are different situations, when the mother is too soft and gentle, the fetus and later is NOT human, it is created on it's own - monster of unknown type to me, honestly. So it is what is written in the womb, from both donors and including the carrier-mother's brain creating while in the period-process where it is found within environment conditions, including other people, animals, technology, weather.
Whatever it is, WE did it, unconsciously or indirectly, and we should accept the consequences and go on. And I give excuses for the mess.
@The_Doc_Man, there is no law that is able to prevent it, when DNA gets "idiotic", only to cure the consequences.

it is like asking if an egg is a chicken or not. Well it is not yet a chicken but it will be a chicken after being nurtured by its mother.

If you genuinely wish to engage in an actual discussion about this topic, do so without pretending not to understand the other side's position. This sort of lame attempt at "gotcha" debating is pathetic, stupid, and a waste of everyone's time.

It's a human fetus and therefore still a part of its mother's body. Is this a difficult concept for you to grasp? Apparently so.

Well of course it's alive - it's a human fetus but not a baby, not till its first breath.

Firstly, there are a lot of plants that are not planted in the ground, also lots of things that used to be considered plants. As to what the embryo is, I consider it a parasite.
BTW, I have never met anyone who is pro-abortion. There are a lot of people who are pro-choice, though. And, if you can't trust a woman with a choice, how can you trust her with a child?

It can't survive outside the womb at that state and the brain isn't developed enough to be a functioning human.

we differ on the definition of life.
A group of cells is not necessarily life. Your fingernail is not life, but it is capable of growth.
