Does the fact that my ex GF who I cut contact with is open to talk now mean I may have a chance?
I cut contact with her five years ago, and have deeply regretted it ever since. I was such a selfish coward to her and I clearly put her through a lot of pain and distress. She told me all about it in her reply.
She answers whenever I get in touch, and she hasn’t told me anything that would suggest she would want me to stop contacting her. She said she’s open to hear what I have to say to her.

Probably not. You had five years to speak up and reconcile with her. She couldn't have really been that important to you and it clearly wasn't weighing that heavily on your conscience. It sounds more like you were lonely so you started going through your contacts to see who would bite. She may have gotten some closure out of being able to tell you how hurt she was, but you have done nothing to show her you deserve another chance. Your apology was not sincere if your motives are ultimately self serving. She will realize as much and cut ties with you herself.
