Is this too much odometer mileage for a automatic transmission fluid change?

2005 Suzuki Forenza sedan with 142890 on the odometer.

I don't remember if it has ever had the fluid changed. Its a sealed transmission since it doesn't have a dipstick.

Should it just be left alone?

The only time NOT to change an automatic trans's fluid is when it's so worn & damaged internally, that the debris in the fluid is the only thing providing friction for the clutch packs to work at all.

So, unless your car does not move for 5-10 seconds after you put it in 'D' or 'R' , or it stays in first gear until 30 MPH, go ahead and do your trans a favor, and have the pan dropped, change the filter if possible, and refill it with new fluid. Do NOT do a trans flush.

Many car manufacturers do not provide a dipstick with automatic transmissions anymore, mostly for an economic reason.

    No.

    It should be changed.

Sealed for life is a con.

    Every 60,000 miles.
