Why do some christians try to convert atheists by quoting from the bible when its obvious that atheists don't believe the bible?

Well many Christians believe the words in the order they appear in the bible, have a kind of magical power that when read, will magically show the person it is all true when hearing them. Sort of like chanting a spell if you will. That it has the power to cut through evil forces and change a person by it's shear magic. Of course they aren't going to put it exactly that way, but that is what many really think. Demons will flee, hearts will break, and so forth under it's power.

If they just keep chanting it over and over again, eventually it's magic will get through.

It's probably not the best tactic, yet truth is truth...there are many statements made in the Bible that most atheists would accept as truth. It's only the scriptures that convict them in their sin, and let them know their ways are not acceptable before God that get them all upset, because nobody likes to change, and the more you're bound by pride, the more difficult still it is to change. Truly not the best way to go. Nor is debating. Two people speaking 2 different languages, and again, pride won't let them be "defeated" in this. Your conduct, your prayer, and your testimony will bring them to repentance, if anything.

Atheists don't understand the bible

''They are darkened in their understanding and separated from the life of God because of their ignorance and hardness of heart.''

But that is false. I know MANY who have been converted by the Bible. What you assume is ridiculous, that once you know the quote is from the Bible you are unable to just process what is said like you would anything else. That is false for sure

Some people are just so indoctrinated that they cannot fathom why people question the bible, I onces tried to tell a person that the bible was compiled in Nicea by Catholic bishops, he flatly refused to believe my statement.

Who cares, Most dont quote any evolutionist writtings

They want to teach it, by name calling, dumb, indocrinated,uneducated etc

Have pity for them, maybe that is how they were taught evolution

When did any fundie ever use any intelligence.
