Is there any way to look up used car history without paying for the report?

Mise à jour:

Looking at 2013 Kia Soul. Low miles and I have the VIN. Did test drive it and ran good. I currently have 2011 Hyundai that may need work in near future. I am waiting on Credit Union loan approval now. I want to get info if possible,

Find a sympathetic dealer who is willing to do it for you.

If you can't afford the relatively small cost of the Carfax or AutoCheck report, you can't afford the car, and you can't afford to deal with the potential problems that the report might reveal.

Nope. If the information is valuable to you then you should be willing to pay for it. Why would you even expect them to give their product away for free.

I could wait until the credit union looks at it to see what it says and see if they "agree/like" it

If you want a Carfax, you must pay for it. You're NOT special.
