Thoughts on these girls names?
Katara (kuh-tarr-uh)
Sakura (sah-kurr-uh)
Kallik (kahl-ikk)
Upon first sight, how did you pronounce them? Any thoughts/cons you'd like to mention?

I guess the first two are okay, not my style but not awful. I like Katara best as it sounds exotic but has the nicknames Kate/Katie or Tara or even Kit or Kat which are pretty/fun and more "normal". (Nicknames are going to be a reality whether you choose to commute her name to one or not...someone will)
I guess Sakura can be called Suki or Kura but I'm not sold on it. And for some reason, I hear the name and an Asian restaurant comes to mind...I know it's a Japanese name but I mean an actual Asian restaurant comes to mind, like I've been to or ordered from somewhere with that name.
Kaliik is not attractive...The spelling looks weird and it sounds very masculine. Maybe Kalia (Kuh-lee-uh or preferably, Kal-ya...Kallie or Lia as a nn).
On first sight I pronounced them as you have them but not sure everyone will.
Whatever you choose, I'd say pair it with a feminine/traditional middle name so that she has it as a back up when she's older if she needs it.
Something like Katara Abigail or Katara Michelle
Sakura Danielle or Sakura Elizabeth
There's actually a name that combines those two...Keturah (Keh-tu-ruh) sometimes spelt Ketura or Katura.
It is of Hebrew origin, and the meaning of Keturah is "incense". Biblical: the second wife of Abraham and mother of six of his sons, who became ancestors of various Arabian peoples. The name was revived by the Puritans.
My friend's cousin is named Keturah and she's called Kit.

Katara (kah-TARA) I watched avater the last air bender ^^ lol
Sakura , I always pronounced as sock-KUUURR- uh, even when watching card captor sakura..
I think these names should stay w/ in animation, they'd be a little too grand and pretenious to use on an actual child...
But Im sure there are lovely substitutes...
Like Ketura for Katara , like one user stated ..
just look ^^

I would highly recommend the name Sakura since it means cherry blossom is Japanese and it is a beautiful name. Katara is nice, so I would rank it second, and Kallik is kinda hard to say for some people so I would rank it third.

ok, if you live in outer Mongolia.
Katara is pretty if you say it like Kah Tara. pretty. Sakura sounds like a disease. and Kalikik sounds like a medical term that infants get and they cry alot. You need to watch those made up names

How I pronounced them initially:
cat-ARE-a
sa-CURE-a
ka-LEEK
I would assume the parent of those kids' first language was not English. Which is fine... I wanted to name my kids names from my native language (not English) but elected not to in the end, and I'm glad now because they would be telling people how to spell and pronounce their name all the time otherwise. But I understand wanting to use names that seem "normal" to you. (If they are not names from your native language then never mind all that...LOL).

I also like Sakura. But I would assume that Kallik is pronounced "KAL-ick" rather than "kahl-ill" (which sounds identical to colic, a condition that affects babies).
