The Mind is our Spirit/Soul/Consciousness
While we inhabit a Physical Body the Mind works through the brain
The Body and Brain cannot exist without the Mind
However, the Mind can exist without the Brain and body
anyone who has had an OBE (Out of Body Experience)
knows it's the Mind that is who you are and the mind travels out of the body
If you ever have an OBE, once you return to the body you feel so very very heavy

The mind is the most mysterious object in nature. Even to talk about it brings out the personal beliefs of the responder. If you are certain that there isn't a God, then the mind must be limited to a yet discovered chemical, or physical gray matter that will ultimately be explained. If you are a person of faith, then the mind is the soul, and has the quality of passing the barrier of our physical death. The MRI machine, modern neuroscience, and psychology cannot unlock the puzzle as to how flesh can store thought. Even the term "thought" underestimates the mystery of how pieces of gray tissue put itself on the moon, or wrote Hamlet. Thought certainly takes the "-less" off of meaning when it comes to describing reality.

Gen.
Consciousness has many forms, eight decreasingly describable levels, and a ninth level that is only acknowledgeable, not describable, because we are local manifestations of it.
For many reasons, most people put labels on the unknown just to pretend to have solved a mystery. There are also other reasons for this.
At the beginning of consciousness is the ability of a virus to enter a cell, and cause it to reproduce its DNA. Things get more complicated than that, and humans are not the epitome of consciousness. We are merely to epitome of verbosity about it.
More complex than a virus, is algae, and it goes from there.
To say that consciousness ends with humans is to stick ones head in a dark, and smelly place.
Consciousness, mind can be expanded through the use of the greatest secret human power.

Philosophically speaking, prior to that clarify to me whether day came first or night came first. Based on your response, I will be able to give a correct answer.
Pl. reconsider. Is it not necessary to have some limitation, restriction or control to spread confusions like this.

I think consciousness is a space where chemicals and electricity exist together to reflect what is going on at the refractive level of activity. The neurons refract and the mind reflects those refractions. Basically. There is a whole lot more involved. Reflection is not only of the neurological refractions but also of the probability in essence that change will produce a different reality so reflection must also take that into consideration. But in here is where thinking is needed.
