Nervous when speaking in front of the class?

Today, In my English Class, we're starting to do "Romeo and Juilet" and my teacher wants us to "act it out" in class. I have the part "Lady Cupulet" I'm a Cancerian Girl and when it comes to speaking in front of people, I get really nervous that my heart starts beating fast and I am so scared that I might embarrassed myself in front of everyone and they will laugh at me. I am cautious when speaking in front of a crowd. What should I do to calm my nerves when speaking, so I could ace this play?

The first thing you need to do is make sure you know your lines really well. Practice in front of the mirror, your family, or a group of friends.

Then, what I always do is pick one person in the room to focus on, a friend or someone you know won't make funny faces at you or whatever. Then I just look at them most of the time and I don't feel bad because they are encouraging and/or non-judgemental.

Don't worry, even if you make a mistake it won't be the end of the world (everyone makes them)! If you mess up just keep going.

Do your best to prepare! As long as you have those lines nailed and practiced, you will be fine.

Take a few deep breaths, listen to music. Sometimes when I get nervous right before a school presentation, I'll run to the restroom to take a few deep breaths. Good luck!!

Im EXACTLY the same way what i do to get it out the way is to just relax and just act like no one is there but you or you can just tell your teacher how you feel !
