Where can I get skype 2.x for linux?
Does anybody knows where can I get the skype 2.x last skypes non-microsoft version?
I have asked this question before , but somebody posted answer which did not helped much and others keped assumed its correct (not checked useless links provided).
For multiple reason: Problems with webcam no longer working, useless left side wasting third of mine.
Obviously I have tried the skypes website.
small netbooks screen telling me who I was talking to weak ago, inability to open it by clicking on its icon in status bar, now having to right-click and chose open followed by opening the received message and many other reasons.
I run latest Xubuntu but I can make some links to make skype instaled by alien work. same static or other... I know it sounds anti-microsoft, however its known that in windows upgrading to premicrosoft skype resolves many problems. I have had a backup, but watter got into it...
I am just trying in case somebody put it into distros repo (eg in Russia china and left it there...)

I use skype 2.1.0.81.pet on puppy linux so the source must be out there.
Skype 4 is in the ubuntu repositery.
Open the Ubuntu Software Center
Go to Edit > Software Sources
Click on the ‘Other Software’ tab
Check the boxes next to ‘Canonical Partners’
Skype works ok in my puppy linux using the ubuntu deb files. If you have problems try the static version. Or just try puppy and install using sfs , pet, or deb
