Bought a used car from a dealer, that did NOT have a feature I asked about and was told it did.?

I didn't ask for a specific car, but rather said I wanted one like my cavalier I had just totaled that was stick shift, had ac, had at minimum an FM radio. He brought a 2010 chevy cobalt out that was an XFE. I asked where that fit in line with the LT and LS he said one step up from the base model but wasn't sure if the base was an LT or LS. I test drove it in the rain at about 65 degrees outside so i didn't turn on the ac. After I bought it I was reading through the book and saw that AC was an option on the 2010 xfe. A) I am kindof a car guy and did not know they even had a car that didn't come standard with AC. B) I told him I wanted AC as well as other items specifically and he brought that car out. C) It was raining and there were some white streaks on the passenger door that he told me were wax... I rubbed some of it and it came off. The next day I was looking it over and some of the white is actually scratches. I asked him about it and he said he would have his guy buff them out. I am happy with the car for the price, I am happy he plans to have the 3 or 4 small scratches buffed out (if he honors what he said), but I am unhappy that I F-ed up and didn't check for ac. I realize this is my fault entirely, but I was wondering two things. Does anyone on here know if you can install AC in an XFE? and secondly Is there any recourse to get them to do something about the AC issue? For example does anyone know a verdict that required a car dealer to buy back a car because of something a salesman said that didn't pan out? or am I just screwed.

If you have read this far please read this. Do Not tell me I F-ed up and should have checked. I know that. I think I should have got the car for $1000 less minimum for not having AC. All things considered I still got a good deal, just bitter.

Thanks,

As YOU put it, you're screwed. He will NOT honor ANYTHING, especially the AC which costs a LOT. He will deny saying anything and he will keep telling you to come back "next week" until you give up.

Sorry you had to learn this the hard way like I did. Car sales people are BOLD FACED LIARS that practice their skill EVERY day on the lot.

Ask them in the event that they might contemporary you with a Carfax historic previous record. that would desire to instruct if the motor vehicle had any substantial provider or became in any injuries. Then only inspect issues like the way it the engine sounds whilst it runs, if there is any loud noises whilst it does this. Then only get a seen on some issues like the tire treads to be sure how worn they're and likewise examine upholstery on the interior for any skuffs or something you does not prefer. another sturdy issues to invite the guy is how nicely they drove it and how previous the tires are, how long have they owned it, have been they the 1st, 2nd and so on proprietor. it ought to be no longer straight forward to attraction to close the theory this motor vehicle will on no account be proper because of the fact it incredibly is used, yet only examine various the fundamentals that I indexed to be sure the motor vehicle continues to be in first rate shape. additionally, whilst it comes time to purchase, be sure you attempt to good purchase with the broker/proprietor. See in the event that they're going to sparkling it for you, fill the tank, restore any minor factors, decrease the fee, and so on. in the event that they rather need to sell you this motor vehicle, then you certainly can convince them to perform a little of those issues, and you will experience sturdy which you bought a competent deal. sturdy good fortune and function relaxing determining on!

If a/c was important to you, then you should have checked to see if the car was equipped with it before buying. A/c is best installed at the factory, during manufacture. It is the buyer's responsibility to determine the condition of a vehicle and make sure it will meet your needs before you buy.
