Burkholderia pseudomallei and salt water?
Is the bacteria, Burkholderia pseudomallei, causing the Melioidosis disease, does survive in salted water and could be found on a beach after flooding / stormy days... ?

Counts of culturable B. pseudomallei declined at pH 3, in the presence of seawater or water with concentrations of 4% salt or higher so it has been demonstrated to tolerate harsh environments for periods if introduced from a freshwater source according to work done at Curtin U in W Australia.
Seawater is typically from 3% - 5% but is often diluted from freshwater sources to be brackish at 0.05% - 3% saline. This bacteria can survive in brackish coastal water.
