Are we in pergatory and the skeptics are going to freeze and the believers roast?

It sure seems that is the way everyone is argues in this section.

Fire and Ice

Some say the world will end in fire,

Some say in ice.

From what I've tasted of desire

I hold with those who favor fire.

But if it had to perish twice,

I think I know enough of hate

To say that for destruction ice

Is also great

And would suffice.

If you have two paths, One path with a road of ice that leads to certain doom. The second path is a road of fire. There's the possibility that we can learn to walk on fire and then there's certain death.

One band of rag tag nay sayers say naahhh we can never learn to walk on fire and we might as well walk on the road of ice for I see it shining and so there must be diamonds and crystals and emeralds on that road of death.

The other group says you know what we can use our brains, why choose the road of certain death when there's a possibility that we can find the answers that we seek.

Well we are actually in a third world fire so you may as well call it purgatory where everything is in chaos.

The religious connotation or spin I cannot agree with as I know that GOD doesn't exist nor was Jesus an actual person but a name ascribed to a prophet by the name of Jmmanuel who lived during that period.

As for the environmental upheavals we are facing at present we humans are the major cause of it all.

Through industrialization and whatever else that comes with it we have allowed our unbridled overpopulation to get out of control thereby increasing our destructive affect on the natural world which is inducing these so numerous natural disasters to happen.

No the world won't end but our survival as a species could if we take the same course that we are taking now and not bother to change for the better by reducing our world population through humane birth reduction measures aimed at decreasing the population number overtime to a more sustainable level in the intervening generations to a more sustainable level.

No there is no abortion nor killing of the living involved, just a humane measure at cessation of births for a duration necessary to limit the size of growth of population.
