Math Homework Help-Urgent?
1) Angela paid $1.76 for 4 pencils, 2 erasers, and 5 pens. Andrew paid $3.14 for 7 pencils, 5 erasers, and 8 pens. How much will Jean pay for 5 pencils, 3 erasers,and 6 pens?
2) (1/(1x2)) + (1/(2x3)) + (1/(3x4))+....+(1/(2005/2006))=?
I'd like the explanations to these also, not just the answer thanks

On the first, Andrew bought 3 more of each item than Angela did, and paid $1.38 more,
so that is 1.38 ÷ 3 = $0.46 just to buy 1 more of each, which is what Jean did. So she will pay $1.76 + $0.46
On the other, look for a pattern. The first is 1/2
The sum of the first two is 1/2 + 1/6 = 3/6 + 1/6 = 4/6 = 2/3
The first three sum is 1/2 + 1/6 + 1/12 = 6/12 + 2/12 + 1/12 = 9/12 = 3/4
Then the first 4 add to1/2 + 1/6 + 1/12 + 1/20 = 30/60 + 10/60 + 5/60 + 3/60 = 48/60 = 4/5
See the pattern? By the time you get to 1 / (2005 x 2006) [which I assume you meant] what would it be?

nicely, enable's see. 8/4 -(2-a million) = a million 8-4-2+a million = 3 8+4-2-a million = 9 8-4+2+a million=7 8-4+2-a million = 5. 8-4+(2*a million) = 6 8/4 + (2*a million) = 4 8/4 -(2*a million) = 0 8-4-(2*a million) = 2 (8-4)*2*a million = 8 (8+4-2)*a million = 10 Voila!!
