Will my steering wheel controls (volume&chan) work with an after market in dash dvd/gps/cd player?

I have a 2008 2500HD Silverado and was thinking about upgrading to an in dash DVD/CD player/GPS. Will the controls which came with the truck on the steering wheel work with any models? The control has source, volume up/down, channel up/down (presets) and mute.

Mise à jour:

Is it possible to obtain something that was made specifically for my vehicle?

There may be some as aftermarket manufacturers have started making some that will work. Check with Crutchfield.com for some possible solutions.

Sorry, but they will not. The best thing I can tell you is to purchase one that either comes with or has a add-on to let you control it with their hardware. The stuff that came with your car will not work unless your OEM stuff just so happens to be made by the same company and is of a similar model with the same port on the head unit.

Yes, I upgraded my 2006 Chevy Avalanche Stereo to and ECLIPSE Stereo with navi and bluetooth and all that good stuff. My steering wheel controls work fine. It depends on how you set it up. But you should be fine.
