Can you tell me why my central heat is malfunctioning?
I have a maybe 10 year old gas Amana central heater. The exhaust fan comes on first, then the gas lights up and fills the chamber but as soon as the blower comes on, the gas cuts off. I am sure the system is telling it to. I can hear a click as the blower starts. Any ideas?

I can think of 3 things.
fan switch not closing soon enough.
upper limit switch opening too soon
Or, the control module for the burner is going (has) gone bad.
You may need a service tech for this problem

I suspect the thermocouple is bad. It is supposed to shut off the gas if the burner does not light. If it has failed it does not tell the system the temp is coming up, so the gas shuts off. It's a silver cylinder that the flame plays on, it's easy to replace.

possible high limit, or bonnet switch, see if you can adjust it. it goes off too soon.
