PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Roman Catholic Bishop Thomas Tobin has banned Rep. Patrick Kennedy from receiving Communion, the central sacrament of the church, in Rhode Island because of the congressman's support for abortion rights, Kennedy said in a newspaper interview published Sunday.

Mise à jour:

incompetence begins with a single word.

Since I don't argue with idiots I once again post the source. I don't believe I have posted Fox with a link for reference as a SOURCE!

I would call the links to this as THE SOURCE!

since the response has overwhelmingly been negative I must consider those responses worthy of my laughter for my post wasn't actually read. WAS IT?

Mise à jour 2:

WOW! I made NO COMMENT, PRO OR AGAINST WHAT I SAID IN THE POST. I MERELY ASK HAS ANYONE ELSE SEEN THIS OR HEARD IT? NOW FOR THE GOOD PART! I breifly saw something on Fox News I found the Yahoo article when I was reading there news.

I believe that the responses here have been done INTIMATE ME rather than answer the post.

So I have a choice of what to do....I'll think about it and make a decision.

Being mean or obsceneBecause kids as young as 13 may participate in Yahoo! Answers, sexually explicit and vulgar language and images are not welcome on the site. Also not welcome are*** belligerence,** insults,** slurs*** and generally objectionable speech. If you wouldn't say it in public, don't post it on Answers.

I did hear that about P. Kennedy on the radio news, a CBS affiliate station.

I am going to take a wild punt and assume that you are American in which case news from USA being reported in the USA is National not World news...

I also agree with others here that Fox is well known for not being particularly accurate, extremely biased and particularly bad at reporting news sourced from other countries (actual world news).

Interesting document I doubt I have seen a collection of misrepresentations, mistruths and lies such as the first page presents. I have to say I love page two offering equal rights and freedoms to all - and then contradicting that on the very next sentence suggesting despite wanting equal rights they would stop 10% of all men and around 1% of all women from having the same recognition, protections and rights as they receive when committing to a lifelong monogamous partnership.

I won't go into abortion in any great detail (we could be here all week) but as with most Christian discussion on the subject they completely fail to mention that over 60% of all fetuses spontaneously and naturally abort in the first few weeks of pregnancy this means that a mother of 3 children could be expected to have had 5 spontaneous abortions in her lifetime this equates to over 200 million "lives lost" every year.

As medical science grows we are increasingly able to keep people alive longer but just because we can keep a collection of associated body parts alive doesn't mean we should. Where to draw the line will become a larger problem as this continues and one that we should all debate - however I don't believe anyone is seriously considering "Logan's run" here.

How any of this debate could have been compared to ethnic cleansing eludes me..

The law states simply that if you provide a service then you must do so to all equally and without favour regardless of the race, sex, sexual orientation, political belief or disability of your "client". Our societies morals and ethics have moved on - no longer can it be considered acceptable to discriminate for any reason. However brilliant or traditional your excuse, no exceptions, no place to hide and practice your discrimination's in a less public arena.

This document would be laughed out of the house in any industrialised western democracy and I should hope with the current administration, in the States too. However it is worrying that people will put their name to something like this without even looking closely at the issues.

The research for this rebuttal was done in under an hour but I doubt that many people have put even as little time as that into independent research on these important topics.

Its long past time to for us to start thinking and researching for ourselves. We always need to see both sides of any Argument.

    Fox... "real world" .... HAHAHAHHAHAHA!!!!

Hold on a sec. I'll be back when I stop laughing.

EDIT: Okay, so I did a quick search on the Manhattan Declaration: A Call of Christian Conscience. Honestly, it looks like only religious groups are even concerned with it, which fully explains why Fox would have their hands all over it. Fox is a conservative, right-wing joke.

I couldn't help but notice that almost all of the answers here are focused on the comment about fox and yahoo, and have totally avoided the issue concerning Patrick Kennedy.

Thanks for bringing the issue into the light, however dim it may be in here.

I hope you understand that Catholics signing on to this document, the Manhattan Declaration, have overstepped their authority and are now in opposition to the Church and dangerously close to being declared heretics.

Mother Church has declare people to be so for far less.

The last item was picked up from Associated Press, which is a major world-wide news service.

Fox tends to be like British tabloids... and the National Examiner. They are after sensationalism and ratings...

I'm going to go out on a limb and assume you never actually checked any sources outside of Fox and Yahoo! for that before posting this question.

" or is it just Fox and Yahoo that report the "real world news.?"

I couldn't possibly laugh harder than I did when I read that. Petty political bickering counts as news?

The "Manhattandeclaration" seems like a shallow attempt to consolidate the religious denominations into a lobbying force.

And as far as Kennedy is concerned, I would advise him to eat a communion cracker elsewhere.

    ROFLMAO

Fox and Yahoo reporting the "real world news".

    Howls of derisive laughter.
