My tv shut off by itself and won't turn back on? Any ideas or should I just trash it?

Hi everyone, I have a model RCA 32V434T Television that I bought back in July of 2007. Back in October, one of the kids was playing a video game and the tv just shut off by itself.

It will not turn back on.

I've unplugged it and have tried pressing different series of buttons while pressing the power button to turn the tv back on but no dice.

When you press the power button, the power button will blink off and on for a few seconds and then stay solid but that's it. No noises or anything appears to be "on" inside the tv.

Is this something I should get fixed or is it a waste of time and money. The tv cost about $300.

I also would just like to know even if it is not worth fixing, what exactly is the problem with the tv. Thanks for advice.

Well, I am sorry to hear that.

Your a victim of poor quality electronics sold at walmart.

Typically walmart tvs last 90 days to 2.5 years.

We get slews of those in for repair. And even when we fix them, since we replace with original parts, it highly probable that it will happen again and again because its just poor quality. CHINA and KOREAN tvs..

If I were you, I would not fix it. If you can save up for a tv thats going to get you good service and support.

I suggest the Sony line. Yes, they cost alot more. Because they are quality electronics, and built to last. Japanese made units.

Typically with those units we see bad transformers and shorted transistors.

My television initiate doing unusual issues earlier it finally died (RIP) some years later. It had a VHS with it. i could put in a tape and it may merely close off. So I end utilising the participant. different cases i could hear noise in the different room and the television had became itself on. the image could each so often start to cut back and then it may be ok and then it may cut back lower back. So i think i don't likely have an answer for you. i'm hoping its the parental administration or the timer has been set by ability of mistake. If that's a extra contemporary television i'm going to assert bypass have it appeared at. If that's an older television, get waiting to assert see you later. We placed ours in a spare room till that's totally final end..
