I wanna get muscle mass?
I've never been in the gym...ok...I' used to go there a lot, but never lifted weights or anything, just the treadmill.
I'm 5`7'' and weight about 100 pounds, and I wanna gain a few pounds worth of muscle.
What kind of routines should I do...how much weigh on what machines? I dont even know the names of most of the stuff in the gym.

I work out 3 times a week an hour a session.
Monday: Biceps & Triceps, Abb execise – and finish with a 15minute jog on treadmill to warm down.
Wednesday: Chest and Back, abb exercise – 15min jog on treadmill
Friday: Legs, abb exercise – 15min jog.
After each session, make sure you STRETCH or you will really feel it the next day. About 2 hours before each session, I have food (chicken sandwich, fruit, stake sandwich, even a burger) this feeds your body the energy you will need in order to lift the weights. If you are going to have a hard session, then you need to up the intake of food, and plenty of water through session.
Once you finish your workout and stretching, you have a 30min window where you need to have some protein, liquid form is better cos it works faster (so protein shakes). This will go through your body to the muscles you have thrashed, and will start to build and repair.
When you lift weights, you are actually causing little rips/tears in the muscles (which is what you want) so you need to break up sessions so you workout one day and then you use the next day to allow your muscles to repair. While they repair, they grow!! When you join the gym, I advise that you get a trainer for the first couple of session. They can then suggest the machines and workouts that will cater to what your goal is, and show you how to do the exercise correctly. You can do a bench press 10 different ways but if you do it wrong, you’re wasting your time cos you may be working out the wrong muscles. Once you get the hang of it, you’ll get to a point where you are creating your own workouts. STAY AWAY FROM STEROIDS!! They may give you muscles faster but there are lots of side effects that may not kick in till further down the line, like... hair loss, bad skin, impotence, spontanious clucking like a chicken, and those are the ones we know of. You need some supplements to feed your muscles while working out. Execising alone could take you about 7-8 months building muscles. Look for a good supplements that will take you about 4-5 months only.

lift waights at a gym then after you work out EAT PROTEEN it helps fix the muccels and makes them bigger
