You could get oral herpes by kissing somebody who has oral herpes. HIV is not transmitted by saliva. The only way you could get HIV by kissing someone is if you both have open cuts or wounds in your mouths, or bleeding gums.

If you kiss someone with a cold sore you can get a form of herpes since a cold sore is a form of herpes, the risk of getting HIV is very low, unless the person has a cut in their mouth. You can also get mono if you kiss someone with mononucleosis.You could also get meningitis by kissing someone who has meningitis.
