my laptop died can you tell me how to fix it?
it just went dead (no power) it was pluged in batery showed 100 % just before it died there is no power anywhere no lichts etc.
i tested the power suply (plug in ac adapter)
its ok
if this were my tower pc i would be testing the power suply next thain toss out the mother bord
do laptops have a power suply in them or is it built into the battery
can they run with a battery removed??
could a bad battery cause this??
did the mother bord fry
its a tosheba satilite running win xp pro

No...the power supply for a laptop is the power converter/adaptor that the computer plugs into before it plugs into the wall.
As for the battery, the computer draws power as needed and at the required level, so that a PSU is not, per-se, required on battery power. What a PSU does in "clean-up" the incoming electricity, and deliver it at a steady pace and "flavour".
A laptop can run without a battery just fine, since the unit "ignores" the battery when it is plugged in (which allows the battery to draw extra power so as to top-off any lost/used charge).
A bad battery could cause any number of problems.
Could the mobo be dead? Yes. Is it? Don't know.
In any case, remove the battery, plug the laptop in and see if it will boot on straight AC. If it doesn't, take it to a tech for repairs, or replace it.

laptop does not have a power supply, power supply are not builtin laptop. Yes laptop can be run wihout the battery but it most be plug to an outlet. No bad battery will not fry the motherboard, if the battery is bad u might have to replace it.

you're likely going to choose the options of an information fix service. that could be surprisingly expensive, yet when the fabric on it really is needed to you, then it will be worth it. in reality you are able to make that call, for sure. solid luck!

buy a new battery! its worth it
Yes they can run without batteries
but i don't called that laptop anymore because theirs no batteries. you run it-on-plug!
i called that desktop!
