Living on your own is hard as hell. Live with your parents and save up your money for as long as you can. You have to buy food, cleaning supplies, insurance, furniture, ect. Don't turn away any hand outs when you do move. Don't let people mooch off of you either.

Freedom, no one to tell you what to do, eat when you want to, sleep when you want to, and sh*t with the door open =D.
Downside, no one to "really care for you when you get sick". Friends are friends, but when you really get sick, you're on your own. They will not kick down the door if they don't see you for about a week, your parents will.
Living alone will make you become an adult. You will understand the meaning of the dollar and its power. My advice to you is, try not to live alone, have a roommate and see where it takes you.
Roommate provides you with comfort, resource, and a hand to hold when something totally new comes along that might cause you shock.

It doesn't suck! It's great! As long as you are financially ready and can do this on your own, it should be a wonderful experience! My husband and I lived with my mom the first 6 months of our marriage, then we lived with my sister, brother-in-law and 1-year-old nephew for 10 months (where we basically just had our own bedroom with a bathroom and got the luxury of USING the kitchen, lol). We finally got our own place October of '07 and we LOVE IT! It's not a huge place, but it's OURS and that's what makes it great. I'm sure you'll enjoy it!

Well, you won't have as much spending money, that's for sure, but it's a wonderful thing to be independent and to make your own choices.
You'll probably have to make a budget and be careful about your money until you figure out how much you have left over, and what you need to spend on necessities...
You can do as you please, and you will probably learn a lot about self-discipline too.
good luck and enjoy

It sucks! All the bills & household things that you have to buy every week- I miss my mom buying laundry soap & toilet paper!
