Chi-square in SPSS?
I'm doing a chi-square to test the significance of differences of proportions (my variables are dichotomous) between two groups.
For this I'm using the cross-table menu, but doing this gives me one chart (actually 2, with the descriptives) per variable.
Is there a way to get those variables listed in a single chart with the value of the chi-square statistic and the sigma?

If I correctly understand what you're trying to get, what you need to do is add your second independent variable into the "layer" section of the crosstabs dropdown menu. This is the equavlent syntax, along with the subcommand to display the chi square test; you could just plug in your variable names in the middle line.
CROSSTABS
/TABLES=dependent BY independent1 BY independent2
/STATISTIC=CHISQ

It's been a long time since I worked with SPSS, so I'm not sure.
Aren't you looking for a conanical correlation? If so, I don't think the attached link will help.
Bells are ringing, but I'd have to look for some old notes to help with anything specific. Sorry I can't be of more help.
