You don't. Not if you really want to part of your child's life.
I tried nursing school when my son was still a baby. I missed his first walk, his first word, and his first big boo-boo.
I can't remember a lot about when he was younger. Dad's have a way of not being around there children as much and being OK. It is tough on a mother.
Yeah we are doing good now but I still miss that I don't have those memories to cherish.
Kids take a lot of work, and even if you have help they can't help with those lasting memories that you will miss.
Go to school first and finish that then have kids. That way you can do better at school too. Its real hard to concentrate on a test when you have a little one home sick with a fever and throwing up. That will be all you can think about no matter how much you know about your test.

I agree with the first answerer... with any medical training, you are pretty much told that you have no life outside of school. You are expected to eat, breathe, and sleep school. If at all possible, wait to have children until you are done your studies or pick a more child friendly path. Just wait until your internship. You will have absolutely NO time for your family... and depending on what type of practice you go into, you might not while you are working in the field. I am not trying to deter you from your dream job, but the medical field is very consuming.
