About Jean Auel's books...Does Ayla ever see her son Durc again? If so, in what book?

I've just started reading the Earth's Children series and I'm curious about this. I'm about to begin book 2.

Mise à jour:

Thanks for the answers.

Can't wait to get through all the books published so far.

as of book 5 (?)--Shelters of Stone--she has not.

There are a lot of people who think he may come west, and some of Ayla's dreams seem to suggest it.

I loved this series of books. Others have already said that she doesn't see him again. But, I think there are more books coming (I can't wait), and anything could happen. Jean Auel takes a long time to write these books because of the amount of research that goes into them. I hope more books are coming soon.

I've only gotten thru the first three.

By the end of The Mammoth Hunters she was traveling father from the Clan and was getting to know more about modern mankind.

I think it left off about four years after leaving her son behind. Oh, by the way, I have the book, but didn't have time to read it, so I got the audio version on CD's and listened while I was driving. It was great that way.

I will eventually get the next book. I am curious, too, about her son.

No, she doesn't see Durc again. But there are a couple of times in the later books where she's able to help with mixed-race (Clan/Other) children.

I've read the whole series, and loved it! You'll have to wait and see what happens! It's more fun to read what happens, than know, and not be surprised by what happens next!

    Good reading!
