2.88 is B - grade per university grading scales. B - is not really bad. In fact it is close to 3.0, i do not see any reason why you feel you will not be given admission. Sure this kind of GPA will not be accepted by very high ranked schools like harvard, MIT but 1000's of universities nationwide will accept you.

There are community colleges too, which take anyone regardless of GPA. Their is no reason to worry about anything. Nobody says you have to be near 4.0 to make a good professional career. Even 2.0 GPA can make you graduate from university and find a decent paying job in fields like engineering or computers.

Its all pure exaggeration and bogus claim that, "if you're not close to 4.0, then you're in trouble" Thats just BS!

You never really know. You'll be surprised. Write a good essay. But if a school a school requires 3.0 such as UCLA, that's not meeting the requirement; so you won't have a chance.

California State Universities in California accept 2.0s so you pretty much should be accepted as long as you fulfill the other requirements. If you want to go to a more prestigious school, you could do two years in community college, get good grades and then transfer to a 4 year college.

relies upon on what you advise once you're saying, "low GPA". A 2.5 is one subject. A a million.7 is yet another. yet probably the two superb ranked, superb respected faculties that have a tendency to settle for those with much less-than-stellar GPAs are Arizona State U and U Arizona. the two very sturdy faculties.
