What are some books with disappointing endings in your own experience?

As readers, sometimes we've all come to the end of a promising book and find that the end is not up to our expections. Just wonderind, which are on your very own list?

To give an example, "Roses are Red" by James Patterson.

Thanks for all the answers so far.

The DaVinci Code, it was a total jip.

When Rabbit Howls - that was a total jip.

A Child Called 'It" - hello, never told us why in the hell it happened. - total jip.

I hate books with no ending, even non-fiction, I can't see the editor editing out the reason(s) for why the book was written in the first place. At least let me know that I didn't waste my time reading something that no one was clever enough to put an ending on, otherwise, the "story" should be a paragraph in the news paper rather than a novel or book.

Alice Sebold's "The Lovely Bones." Utterly unsatisfying. The last fourth of the book felt tacked on and shoddy compared to the rest.

Shogun by James Clavell. The woman that Blackthorne fell in love with got blown up and then the Japanese tricked him into staying on their island forever. I was disappointed with that one. Oh, plus there were some other couples in that story that didn't end up together.

Da Vinci code. I was expecting more from it. The story is quite good, but the end made me want to forget about the rest of the book.

    Little Women

I just didn't like how they brought the characters together. Like how Jo didn't marry the boy (I forgot his name), but then Amy did. It almost broke my heart.

    P.S. Good Question!
