Interesting list, but let's not paint Democrats as "Polly Purehearts " just yet. Corruption is a major issue in all levels of government. I'd love to see a list like this one , focusing on state-level polititions. My guess is that the list would be much more balanced. Politicos as as whole are inherently corrupt, regardless of their party affiliation. My guess is that most of them get invovled in politics purely to find avenues to fill their personal coffers. Take the former Governor of Alabama, Don Seigelman (D). He was recently convicted of taking bribes from Richard Scrushy, former CEO of HealthSouth Corp, in exchange for a position for Scrushy on the Medical Board of Needs. His position would pave the way for him to open a new hospital unimpeded by the government.
